I really like this photo...it almost has a 1950s black and white print feel. Classy.

Love this portrait! Great light and beautiful model.

However... I see these rings in the fade in the back. How about trying a BW filter/plugin instead? While the result isn't technically BW (BW is 256 grey values), you get a much richer BW and you can add toning to make it colder or warmer. Or neutral. But you won't get those rings. Or, at least, they won't be this obvious.

Check out [link] and look for a filter called B/W Conversion. It can even emulate the tonal response of several different kinds of BW films. And colour filters. It's awesome.

hi,
I don't see these"rings" when I view this picture from my Mac; but I see them when I open the pic in my office.
It depends by frequency of monitors.
bye

I'm guessing your mac is a laptop or you're using an LCD monitor? No, really... Converting to BW the standard way in PS gives you a pic with 256 grey values. Using a filter, like BW Conversion gives you a lot more flexibility, and the pix will look amazing when you print them. Especially if you warm them up or cool them down a tad. But hey... Don't take my word for it. Just poke around the net for a while and see for yourself. ;)
